Day Twelve, December Daily 2016

Posted by

A Guide Dog puppy training session ended up a photo shoot with the 'girls in blue'.

We first feared we were all in trouble for illegally parking on the nature strip - with this many puppies and the fact that it is a public dog park, the closer we can park the better.

These 2 local police officers were driving past when they saw our crew of 5 dogs (plus 2 extras) running about at a dog park. They were actually mid discussion about what kind of dog each should get when they decided to double back and drop in for a quick hello. Such good sports, I captured several shots of them both interacting with all 7 dogs! For the other dogs and their owners privacy, I have not shared the photos with them included. Just our puppy crew.

Having seen so many albums lately with 2x2 photos in pockets I have been suffering a little 2x2 envy... I decided to give a 4x6 collage a go (in photoshop elements) and no doubt did that the long way by editing each photo to 2x2 then slotting them all into their spots on a 4x6 blank canvas.  For the #12 to have a place to rest and be seen, I cut some patterned paper from my supplies I am using this year, in this case a 12x12 from the Oh Joy Collection 12x12 paper pack by Pinkfresh Studios.

The right page of my DIY'd notebook has a few layers. On the very bottom is this photo (even though I had both police officers permission I have decided to blur faces in the close up shot)

My typed up journaling is on the back of this next layer (blurred to respect the other Guide Dog puppy raisers and also the privacy agreement in my contract).

The two trees were fussy cut from another 12x12 sheet from the same Oh Joy Collection paper pack and adhered to a piece of the same patterned paper used to hold the #12 on the left page. Washi that holds this layer to the one below is from the Oh Joy Collection also.

Atop them all is a Simple Stories 4x4 clear flip pocket. I popped the sequins that I wanted in it, stitched it closed using my sewing machine and white thread, then adhered it so that the stitching lined up with the top of the photo. These flip pockets are self adhesive so super easy to use.

This whole bundle of layers is on a vellum page.

Thanks for joining me for Day Twelve (almost half way eeeep!)

Cheers,

Michelle x.
